1. The import and transhipment of fresh fruits and vegetables is regulated by AVA, Quarantine and Inspection Department (QID), Import & Export Regulation Division (IERD). Food Section.
2. The basic requirements are: a) Before you prepare your permit application for submission to AVA through TradeNet®, you must obtain a licence from AVA for the import & transhipment of fresh fruits and vegetables in accordance with The Control of Plants Act. Licence application is now available online at AVA’s website. You may download a copy of the legislation from the AVA website. b) When you apply for the Import Permit, you must declare the following in the permit application apart from the other details: i) AVA (Fresh Fruits and Vegetables) Licence No. in the Licence/Certificate field. ii) Product Information - You need to state the product information in the following fields:- CA/SC Product Code field, e.g. HVL0LTI for lettuce iceberg CA/SC Product Quantity field - nett quantity at item level (in accordance to HS code), e.g. 10.00 CA/SC Product Unit of Quantity field - in accordance to HS code & Product Code, e.g. TNE
