Media Development Authority - Board of Film Censors (BFC)


When you prepare the import permit application for films, videos & video games:

a) you have to provide the following information in the "Description of Goods" field:
    i) No. of Cartons
    ii) Movement of Cargo for re-export cases.

b) you are required to fill in the product codes for selected controlled items as listed under Media Development Authority in Appendix A.

Note:

i) For items meant for licensed video importers, the declaring agent should confirm the product code with the consignee before the declaration is submitted.

ii) For items meant for individuals (for personal use) or non-licensed importers, the type of consignment should only be master (A) copy or material under the exempted categories (EC).

iii) Licensed video importers should furnish the information on product code to his declaring agent prior to the application of the TradeNet® permit.

iv) Video game importers who have registered with MDA should furnish the information on product code (i.e. VG02) and HS code (i.e. 85234014, 85234019, 85234094, 85234099, 85235130, 85235940 or 85238030) to his declaring agent prior to the application of the TradeNet® permit.

c) You need to attach the relevant supporting documents, where applicable, to be submitted together with the permit application.
