Facilities subject to inspection
Declared facilities with production, processing and/or consumption levels that exceed the stipulated verification threshold limits are subject to site inspections by OPCW inspectors. These are mainly routine inspections to verify that facilities are conducting the appropriate activities as declared and that these activities do not violate the Convention.

Type of Facility Verification Threshold Limits
Schedule 1 All declared facilities are subject to inspection.
Schedule 2 Production, processing or consumption more than:
  • 10kg of a chemical designated "*" in Schedule 2A;
  • 1 tonne of any other chemical listed in Schedule 2A; or
  • 10 tonnes of a chemical listed in Schedule 2B.
Schedule 3 Production in excess of 200 tonnes aggregate of any Schedule 3 chemical.
Unscheduled DOCs
  • Production in excess of 200 tonnes of unscheduled DOCs; or
  • Production in excess of 30 tonnes of a PSF-containing DOC.
