Typical Inspection Process
Typical Inspection Process

Normal plant operations would not be affected by the inspection.

OPCW inspections are typically conducted by a team of inspectors from the OPCW’s Technical Secretariat, who are accompanied by all times with the NA(CWC) officers and site representatives. The inspectors work under strict rules of governing in the protection of the confidential information from the facility. They are recruited from CWC States Parties, well verse in chemical engineering knowledge.

The inspection process will cover a briefing of the facility’s operations, a site tour around the facility such as the reactors, waste disposal, warehouse, QC Lab, etc, followed by a review of the facility records of the relevant chemicals.

During the OPCW inspection, NA(CWC) officers would act as intermediaries between the OPCW inspection team and the facility representatives to ensure Singapore’s obligations to the Convention are met, while also protecting the rights of the facility and the confidentiality of its information.
