The internship programme aims to give Year 2 and 3 Singaporean undergraduates from local universities in all disciplines a good experience of working life in Singapore Customs. It offers undergraduates practical and "out-of-textbook" perspectives to business issues and the opportunity to be engaged in the diverse business operations of Singapore Customs. This also provides a good avenue for undergraduates to discover their strengths and to express and contribute their ideas in a meaningful way to the work of Singapore Customs.
During the internship programme, the interns will obtain first-hand insights into Singapore Customs' functions and its role as a trade facilitator and revenue enforcer. The interns will be assigned meaningful projects to work on and the length of the internship is dependent on the project requirements. The internship runs are scheduled in Dec and May - Jul periods.
The list of available internship projects will be posted online in the Civil Service Internship website for interested applicants to apply. A description of the internship projects can be found in http://app.internship.gov.sg/tabs_uni_other_internship.asp.
Applications for internship will open from 10 Oct 08 to 20 Oct 08 for the run in Dec 08 in the Civil Service Internship website.
