The Strategic Goods Control List contains descriptions of items and technology that are subject to control under the Strategic Goods (Control) Act. Goods and technology that fall into any of the descriptions in the Control List are known as strategic goods and strategic goods technology, respectively. If you are going to export, tranship or bring in transit any strategic goods, or strategic goods technology, you must apply for a strategic goods permit.

Apart from the controls over the export, transhipment and bringing in transit of strategic goods, and technology, goods belonging to certain categories are subjected to brokering and Intangible Transfer of Technology controls.
