Find out which goods are prohibited or controlled when entering Singapore, and what requires permits or approval before arrival.

Before you travel, check whether the items you are bringing into Singapore are allowed. Some goods are prohibited, while others require approval from the relevant Competent Authorities (CAs).
Prohibited Goods
Prohibited goods are items that are not allowed to be brought into Singapore.
It is an offence to bring prohibited goods into Singapore.

Controlled Goods
Controlled goods require an import permit or authorisation from the relevant CAs before they can be brought into Singapore.
If you are carrying controlled goods, you must:
Obtain the required permit or authorisation before arrival.
Present the goods and approval documents to the checking officer at the Red Channel or Customs Examination Area before immigration clearance.
