Exporting Trade Samples
Find out the requirements for exporting trade samples, including when an export permit is needed and rules for temporarily exporting goods intended for return to Singapore.
Trade samples are goods exported solely to be shown, demonstrated or tested overseas. They may be exported:
To solicit orders for goods to be supplied abroad; or
To a manufacturer for copying, testing or experimentation before production abroad
Before exporting, you should check whether your trade sample is a controlled item.

Temporary Export of Trade Samples
Trade samples that are temporarily exported and intended to be returned to Singapore must be re-imported within 3 months from the date of export.
