If you plan to export your motor vehicle permanently from Singapore, you must comply with Customs export requirements. You may also need to meet vehicle de-registration requirements administered by the Land Transport Authority (LTA).
Export Permit Requirements
All goods from Singapore, including motor vehicles, must be covered by a Customs export permit.
You or your appointed declaring agent must apply for the export permit before the vehicle can be exported.
Export Controls by Other Authorities
If your vehicle or any related items are subject to control by other Competent Authorities (CAs), you must obtain the relevant CA licence(s) before exporting.
Declaring the Value of the Vehicle
When applying for the export permit, the declaring agent or exporter must declare the value of the vehicle based on its Free on Board (FOB) value.
The FOB value:
Reflects the value of the vehicle at the point of export
Excludes freight and insurance charges
Ensure the declared value is accurate and supported by relevant documents.
Vehicle de-registration and related export requirements are administered by the Land Transport Authority (LTA).
